Hey guys!
My name is alena, I’m a Jesus lovin', shoe obsessed, 20 something, small town girl from CT. Growing up, I've always had a love for beauty and fashion! My mom said I was 3 years old when I was adamant about choosing my own outfits, and when I was 5, I would yell at her if my ponytail wasn't perfect. She claims it was the start of ww3, but I say... just a future hairstylist/fashionista in-the-making. ;)
When I was about the age of 12, one of my friends introduced me to Blair Fowler on youtube. If you're a beauty guru OG, you’ll know she was the QUEEN back then. I watched a few of her videos and was absolutely hooked, and behold! my youtube channel, BeautyBeat19 was born. There I was, a pre-teen, teaching the world how to apply pink eyeshadow, filming hauls from all of my shopping trips and how to fold clothes! Haha! I think I wear less makeup now, than I did at 13!
Fast forward a couple years, fresh out of high school, I decided to go to cosmetology school. Remember those papers you would have to fill out on “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I always answered “hairdresser” and to this day my mom still has those papers!! I even drew blueprints of what my future salon would look like! I now work at a boutique salon 20 min from home and I absolutely love it.
On the days when I'm not working, I'm usually organizing something, trying my best to get a workout in or shopping. ;) I'm a sucker for a good deal. My go-to stores consist of Tj Maxx, Marshalls and Target! I love looking for high quality items for a bargain price!
My hope for this blog is for it to be a creative outlet for me to express my thoughts, share fashion tips, amazing finds, my fave recipes and so much more. Thanks for checking out this page. I look forward to sharing more with you. xx
